OLLI members are welcome to join us on one Friday afternoon every month for a free movie. We have specifically chosen lighter movies that won’t make your brain have to work too hard, or leave you feeling depressed! The selections will include a mix of new and old, and different genres. The movies will start at 2 p.m. Plan to bring your own beverage and food; however, you must clean up after yourself!
There is no need to preregister and the movies will be shown in C100.
Friday, April 25: Casablanca (1942)
Spring & Summer:
Friday, May 30: Tommy Boy (1995). An incompetent, immature, and dim-witted heir to an auto parts factory must save the business to keep it out of the hands of his new, con-artist relatives and big business. This laugh-out-loud funny movie stars Chris Farley, David Spade and Brian Dennehy.
Friday, July 11: Gigi (1958). Weary of the conventions of Parisian society, a rich playboy and a youthful courtesan-in-training enjoy a platonic friendship, but it may not stay platonic for long. This musical won the Academy Award for best picture and stars Leslie Caron and Maurice Chevalier.
Friday, August 29: Forrest Gump (1994). Forrest Gump, while not intelligent, has accidentally been present at many historic moments, but his true love, Jenny Curran, eludes him. This beloved movie won the Academy Award for best picture and stars Tom Hanks, Sally Field and Gary Sinise.
