Get in touch with your creative side and learn tips for making floral arrangements which will dazzle your family and friends. In this class you will learn about basic design rules, color and flower identification. You will take home a floral arrangement after each class. The instructor is Kim Herbers, who has been working in the floral industry for over 30 years. The class fee includes $25 for supplies.
When you travel on a group tour, all the details are taken care of. However, you follow the itinerary the tour company thinks will be of interest to you. In this class, you will receive tips on how to build your own independent travel experience. It will cover how to deal with money, tips for packing, what to do if you get lost and much more. The class will be led by Robert Mee, a retired Delta College Spanish professor who led many Delta trips. He is also the current president of Saginaw’s People to People chapter. Come to class with your list of questions.
If you want to help save the dying bee population, you may want to attend this class to learn more about what is required to become a beekeeper. At the first and second sessions, which will be held in the classroom, you will learn more about the bee shortage, view a one-hour video, learn about the required equipment and supplies, and have your questions answered. The class will be led by Terry Klein who is a Vice President of the Michigan Commercial Beekeeper’s Association and a member of the Saginaw Valley Beekeepers Association. The third session will be a field trip north of St. Charles where you will learn how to install bees in hives and see Kleins’s operation. (You are responsible for your own transportation.)

Competitive bidding is the key to winning at bridge. This class for intermediate and higher players will cover the subjects of overcalls and balancing bidding, and partner’s actions. Two books by Mike Lawrence will expose you to the secrets of champion bridge players. This includes Balancing and The Complete Book on Overcalls. The instructor is Rich Siemer, a Silver Life Master.

This class will introduce you to the science and art of flying a dual-line sport kite. A two-hour classroom presentation will provide the terminology and principles to be mastered prior to two three-hour hands-on flying sessions on campus. A variety of dual-line kites will be available for use, but participants are encouraged to bring any dual-line kite they may have. Just be ready for something new and exciting! The class will be led by SVSU biology professor and kite enthusiast Jim McEvoy. The class maximum is eight.
