Academic Programs
SVSU academic programs are housed in five colleges, all of which are accredited by recognized agencies. The Colleges are: Business & Management; Science, Engineering & Technology; Nursing & Health Sciences; Arts & Behavioral Sciences, and Education.
Of particular interest to our international students are the Colleges of Business & Management and the College of Science, Engineering & Technology. On a graduate level, the College of Arts, Behavioral Sciences’ “Communication & Digital Media Design” program is also a popular program for many of our international students.
International students often pursue the MBA program.
It is necessary to specify a program in your application because a program must be listed on the I-20 document, which we will send to you to obtain your visa. However, it is possible (in fact it is easy) to change your major once you arrive. In order to graduate you must select a major and meet the requirements for that major. You can have a "minor" in addition to your major, or you can have two majors. Requirements for majors and minors are found in the catalog. Academic advisors at SVSU will help you to choose your courses to meet the necessary requirements.
