Globalization Seminar Header 680X284

A two-week seminar led by Ph.D. academic professionals in international business.

International organizations thinking about or already doing business with U.S. companies gain a competitive edge when they have a clear and defined understanding of the U.S. corporate and cultural environments. In the summer of 2014, a two-week business globalization seminar will be offered by Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU), a fully accredited public university in the state of Michigan.

The intent and content of this seminar has been created at the request of international university partners of SVSU in China, India, Ghana, and Brazil. The seminar, endorsed by these schools, gives attendees the assurance that this program is thorough, targeted, and professionally presented. A certificate will be awarded upon the completion of the program (this is a non-credit program).

Seminar presenters include Ph.D. faculty and endowed chairs with excellent academic credentials as well as global, corporate experience. Field trips will include escorted visits to Fortune 100 and 500 companies, as well as to smaller, regional businesses.

Much of the design input for the seminar has been developed by Dean of the AACSB-Internationally accredited College of Business & Management, Rama Yelkur, Ph.D., who brings extensive global experience. The entire program is offered in English and covers such important topics as:

  • Regulations
  • Political climate
  • Legal and ethical matters
  • Market entry strategies
  • Partner identification and selection
  • Negotiations and contracts
  • Regional differences within the U.S.
