Admissions Quick Tips

Your application will be incomplete until you are able to supply each of the following items

Remember that the completed application must include your permanent address in your home country, your admissions program, such as “Full” or “Conditional” admission, your educational history, your emergency contact information along with the other details on the application. Once you have completed it, you can print it out and send it to us by post along with the rest of your application materials.

1. Evidence of financial support: This could be an official bank statement from your sponsor, official letter of support from scholarship provider, or other evidence of financial support indicating that your sponsor has enough funds available to cover your full first academic year at SVSU.

Important: For us to be able to accept your evidence of financial support, it must meet the following criteria:

• All evidence of financial support must be official and/or original document(s). We will not accept any faxes, scans or copies.
• It must be dated no more than six (6) months from the semester you wish to apply for.
• The total costs for one year for undergraduate and graduate study at SVSU are indicated below

• * This cost is based on the on-campus housing in an apartment with a private bedroom. Other options are available for on-campus housing.

3. Official academic documents: You must have your school(s) submit official transcripts and diploma from your secondary school (and high secondary, if applicable), as well as any additional transcripts and diplomas you have earned. We will not accept faxes, scans or copies. Only original and/or official documents can be accepted.

4. Application fee: A $75 application may be paid by credit card on page two (2) of the application, or the fee may be sent in with the application.

5. English Language Proficiency (if not applying for “Conditional Admission”:  Students seeking “full” admission into an undergraduate academic program must provide either a TOEFL (61 iBT, 500 pBT) or a IELTS (band 5.5). 6. A copy of your passport: It is necessary for us to have a copy of your passport for purposes of processing your I-20 and admissions package.
