Dean's Message
A new era of opportunity began with the renaming of the College from Nursing and Health Sciences to Health and Human Services, and the accompanying addition of the departments of Kinesiology and Social Work. Historically the college was dedicated to educating health professionals, who have improved the health of the region by promoting healthful living and providing quality care. As the college has expanded so has its scope, with addition of new disciplines providing opportunities for greater inter-departmental collaboration to meet regional health and human services needs. Research indicates high quality care and quality of life is achieved most effectively and efficiently through collaboration efforts between and among health and human services professionals and those they serve. Health and human services professionals practice in a variety of roles and many setting, accepting responsibility for provision of services and improvement of outcomes. If interested in quality health and human services education, scholarships and service, I welcome you to join us in the role of your choice as we develop new trans-disciplinary opportunities.
