M.S.S. (Making Students Successful)
Mentor Program

The M.S.S. Mentor Program is designed to support students in their transition to Saginaw Valley State University and to offer guidance as students begin to define their goals and strive for academic success. Mentees will be given the chance to enhance their college experience through active participation in one-on-one interaction, small group meetings and other social activities.

The program will match freshmen with a peer mentor. The mentee and mentor will communicate on a regular basis and meet at least twice a month or as often as both determine to be helpful and possible. The mentee and mentor will also attend activities and other social events together.

This program is a perfect way for incoming freshmen to expand their view of the university, connect with upperclassmen, staff and faculty members, meet students and increase their involvement in the university.
