Mission Statement
The Office of Minority Student Services at Saginaw Valley State University strives toward the betterment of minority students while simultaneously assisting underrepresented ethnic groups with their overall academic development. Ensuring that minority students are being helped with their transition at SVSU, Minority Student Services creates a community that recognizes cultural differences by embracing diversity through various programs. While taking an active interest to promote cultural awareness and understanding, we support efforts of the Student Affairs division to meet the diverse needs of the SVSU community.
Services
The Office of Minority Student Services provides comprehensive services for minority students.
These services include:
· Providing counseling, advising and tutoring
· Encouraging students to use campus resources
· Facilitating the development of minority students through educational programs and activities
· Supporting all on-campus cultural student organizations
· Serving as an information resource to the college campus and community
