Contemporary American Sculpture showcases the work of over 25 internationally and nationally known sculptors, surveying the evolution of modern and contemporary art from the mid-20th century to the present. The exhibition explores the variety of styles of foremost sculptors, Harry Bertoia, Alexander Calder, Mark di Suvero, Duane Hanson, Seymour Lipton, Louise Nevelson, Dennis Oppenheim, Beverly Pepper and George Rickey.

Other American Sculptors, Larry Kagan, Claes Oldenburg and Thomas Pfannerstill draw upon the Pop-modernist movement as a mode of expression. Contemporary artists, Chakaia Booker, Melvin Edwards and Whitfield Lovell utilize personal metaphor and cultural references to explore issues of memory, identity and heritage. American artists have made extraordinary advancements in developing contemporary sculpture and extending the boundaries of the traditional medium.
