For Dr. Ryan LaLonde (Pharm.D.), a clinical pharmacy coordinator for Covenant Healthcare, earning his MBA has always been a personal goal. For Ryan, a bonus of SVSU's accredited program was his opportunity to participate in two 10-day Study Abroad trips to study business in developing economies; he traveled to Chile and Russia. He calls each a phenomenal experience and a sort of capstone course. "By touring other companies (in other countries), you're getting every aspect and every discipline of the MBA program."
Now, Ryan discusses contracts with pharmaceutical representatives and examines options with a newfound business perspective. He says his director talks with him about hospital finances, and now Ryan is more comfortable, having gained the understanding to offer a stronger opinion.
Ryan adds that his degree opens possibilities for his future, should he want to advance in his position or seek a career outside pharmacology. "You want to be the most prepared for the future that you can be."
