This is a fun middle school project where students
work in groups to decide what should happen to a mummy
that has just been discovered. Groups involved
include museum directors, scientists, cultural watchdog
groups, and the government. Students have to
look at the positions of all people involved in this
debate. They then draw a "character" and present
an argument for that position. They may have
to present an idea that they don't personally agree
with. This site has many great links to help
students develop a strong position and encourages

This site contains all the information a teacher would
need to perform GLOBE activities, including studies
of the atmosphere, hydrology, soils, seasons, land
cover, and global positioning systems (GPS). The protocols
for the activities are described, although to become
an offical GLOBE site, teachers must also attend an
official GLOBE training session. Information on training
