  1. Bay Arenac ISD Career Center
    This site is divided into six career pathways with specific careers listed.  Each area describes the course available for that program at the ISD, a profile of the career, workplace opportunities, etc.  The identified pathways include Business Management, Marketing & Technology, Arts and Communication, Health Sciences, Human Services, Engineering / Manufacturing & Industrial Technology, Natural Resources and Agriscience.
  2. Career Info Net
    Find wages and employment trends, occupational requirements, state by state labor market conditions, millions of employer contacts nationwide, and the most extensive career resource library online.
  3. Career Zone
    This site, sponsored by New York, provides opportunities to investigate six career pathways.  It allows the user to access the site through flash or text, depending on the needs of the persons computer.  Once the program is access, it allows the user to look at a variety of careers in each pathway.  Each career is broken down into the job description, interests, tasks, skills, knowledge, education, school programs, wages, job outlook, additional resources, and similar jobs.  The site is easy to read and navigate.
  4. Charles Darwin: An Overview
    This site has a complete history of Charles Darwin including resources on where to find his writings and links to other sites. It also links you to other scientists with whom he worked.
  5. Diversity Site: Careers and Professions in the Earth Sciences
    This site contains links to multiple sites with information on careers and professions in the Earth Sciences. This site also contains diversity links related to women and minorities.
  6. EEK! Get a Job
    A variety of careers in science are discussed on this site. Links allow students to further explore careers of interest to them, take quizzes, or e-mail questions to EEK!  These are real people discussing their careers in science.
  7. Experience Today
    The Seattle schools in conjunction with USA today have put together this site.  One, called the Virtual Career Quest allows exploration of the world of work, now and in the future, utilizing stories from USA TODAY, online experts, and interactive features that can help students decide what career to pursue. A wealth of occupational and career information, activities, downloadable pages, and critical-thinking features are available.
  8. Genetic Counseling
    Outstanding - This site outlines the importance of genetic counselors as health professionals who are trained to help families understand genetic disorders and to provide information and support to those families. They may also serve as patient advocates by referring individuals or families to local services that can be of assistance.
  9. Get Tech
    Get Tech is for parent and students to look at careers in technology, engineering, manufacturing and science.  There are also a variety of other activities at the site.
  10. JobStar Guides
    This career site is sponsored by the Career Journal, the career site of the Wall Street Journal. The site offers users access to a collection of career and job search information.
  11. Major to Career Converter
    Enter an academic major and receive "results" for a listing of career opportunities reflective of your academic major, interests, values, personal style and skills. Some of the career opportunities do require advanced study.
  12. Michigan Bridges
    This site includes opportunities to investigate a number of careers.  It includes a section that is an interview with someone who already holds this job as well as how math is used in the career.  It is a site that must be paid to use, but does include a 10 day free trial.
  13. Michigan Occupational Information System (MOIS)
    MOIS offers specific information about individual careers in a number of career pathways as well as other information useful to students, teachers, and counselors to help in the career decision making process.  The site does require a license.
  14. What can I do with a major in…
    This site, sponsored by the University of North Carolina at Wilmington has links to many other facets of career searching.  This page lists the name of a number of majors.  The student can then click on the major and find a list of career titles, major skills, and web sites for job listing and job searches for people with that major.
  15. Virtual Job Shadow
    Job Shadow Coalition has made available a variety of materials to assist employers, teachers, and students in setting up a job shadow program or experience.

  1. Michigan Council of Teachers of Math
    The Michigan Council of Teachers of Mathematics website.  It includes conferences, calendar, links, publications, membership, scholarships, etc. Excellent site for mathematic teachers to keep up on state mathematics activities.

    The Michigan Science Teachers Association website.  Excellent site of science teachers to keep up on state science activities.

    This is the National Science Teachers Association website.  Excellent site concerning national happenings and information on science standards.
