Introduction

The internet sites found listed below are the result of work completed by teachers who attended the Generation II: MASER project during one week Summer Workshops. Workshop participants researched mathematics Internet sites using a set of developed evaluation criteria. A set of Internet learning activities for teachers and students were developed which correlated directly with State of Michigan Mathematics Content Expectations. In several of the strands, the "domains" are similar to "Standards" in Principles and Standards for School Mathematics from the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. The result is that teachers and students will be able to use the Internet resources as a learning tool which is fully integrated with their Mathematics curriculums. Click here for more background information on the project.

The Mathematics Internet sites are organized under the following headings:  Lower Elementary Internet Sites (K-2); Upper Elementary Internet Sites (3-5); Middle School Internet Sites (6-8); High School Internet Sites (9-12). Each Internet site is listed under the "Mathematics Domain" that it meets.

The General Mathematic Sites are Internet sites that do not meet specific "Mathematics Expectations". Listed are numerous outstanding sites which contain resources that might be useful to teachers.  The major topics under "General Mathematics Sites" are: Mathematics Games and Student Activities; Mathematics Lesson Plans; Interactive Learning and Problem Solving Activities; Word Searches and Puzzles; Assessments for Mathematics; Concept Maps for Mathematics; and Misconceptions for Mathematics.  The "General Resources" topics contain links to resources listed under the following headings: Careers in Mathematics; Women and Minorities Issues; Miscellaneous Sites; Multiple Subject Indexes; Mathematics History, Jokes, and Humor; Mathematics Dictionaries and Multimidia Resources. Also included is information about how to use "Internet Media Resources" and other general information.

Internet sites "New" to the disk this year are marked and sites found by participants to be "Outstanding" are also identified.

This site uses "Google Custom Search Engine". The link to this search engine is found at the top of this home page, and at the top of each of the major "grade level" pages. Just type your search topic in the search box and let the Google Custom Search Engine search this site and display the information on the "Results Page".
