Video Technologies/Movies

  2. Algebra: In Simplest Terms New
    In this series, host Sol Garfunkel explains how algebra is used for solving real-world problems and clearly explains concepts that may baffle many students. Graphic illustrations and on-location examples help students connect mathematics to daily life. The series also has applications in geometry and calculus instruction. Algebra is also valuable for teachers seeking to review the subject matter. Installation of a Plug-in may be necessary to view these videos.

    This lesson consists of providing you with a Self-Tutorial on all about the classification and sets of numbers. Learn what are natural numbers, integers, rational numbers and more.     This site allows the user to search the site for links to a variety of subjects. This search is for video resources in the area of mathematics. An outstanding site that the user can search for information and resources in a variety of different ways.

    Host Hanne Bauer gives adults the confidence they need to help children learn math concepts through games and activities. Each video focuses on a single math concept and shows how everyday items such as beans, buttons, coins, and string can be used to practice and improve sorting, estimating, and other basic math skills. Installation of a Plug-in may be necessary to view these videos.

    Visual multiplication done by drawing lines and counting intersecting lines. This is a video demonstration of multiplication using vedic mathamatics. This is an exellent alturnative for teaching, visual thinkers and visual learners how to multiply.

  8. Make a Fractal
    This site allows a student to design their own fractal by changing colors and patterns within it. Student designed fracts can be saved in poster form. It also describes how fractals are generated, and has many links to other sites about fractals.

    The material presented in the site are for middle school students, high school students, college students, and all who are interested in mathematics. You will find interactive programs that you can manipulate and a lot of animation that helps you to grasp the meaning of mathematical ideas.

    This site has animations that show proof of the Pythagorean Theorem as well as higher mathematics.

    The Gallery consists of interactive multimedia learning units on various issues that shall facilitate understanding.
