Video Technologies/Movies

1. Addition of Fractions
   This is a video on addition of improper and proper fractions and also mixed numbers.
2. Algebra: In Simplest Terms
   In this series, host Sol Garfunkel explains how algebra is used for solving real-world problems and clearly explains concepts that may baffle many students. Graphic illustrations and on-location examples help students connect mathematics to daily life. The series also has applications in geometry and calculus instruction. Algebra is also valuable for teachers seeking to review the subject matter. Installation of a Plug-in may be necessary to view these videos.
3. Classification of Numbers
   This lesson consists of provding you with a Self-Tutorial on all about the classification and sets of numbers. Learn what are natural numbers, integers, rational numbers and more. I also explain how to use your graphing calculator to input all types of numbers (integers, fractions, square roots, etc.).
4. Equalities & Inequalities
   This lesson consists of providing you with a Self-Tutorial on the basics of equalities and inequalities. I go over how to write results in interval notation, inequality notation, and set (set-builder) notation. I also explain in the printed notes how to use your graphing calculator to help you make comparisons between numbers.

   This site allows the user to search the site for links to a variety of subjects. This search is for video resources in the area of mathematics. An outstanding site that the user can search for information and resources in a variety of different ways.
9. Math for All
   Host Hanne Bauer gives adults the confidence they need to help children learn math concepts through games and activities. Each video focuses on a single math concept and shows how everyday items such as beans, buttons, coins, and string can be used to practice and improve sorting, estimating, and other basic math skills. Installation of a Plug-in may be necessary to view these videos.

    Concepts covered: Multiplication of Improper and Proper Fractions and also Mixed Numbers.
11. Multiplication Using Vedic Mathematics
    Visual multiplication done by drawing lines and counting intersecting lines. This is a video demonstration of multiplication using vedic mathamatics. This is an exellent alturnative for teaching, visual thinkers and visual learners how to multiply.
12. Operations on Numbers
    This lesson consists of providing you with a Self-Tutorial on the typical operations done on numbers. These include: absolute value, opposites, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and simple exponents. Order of Operations is covered in detail. I also explain how to use your graphing calculator to help you perform all these operations.

8. Make a Fractal
   This site allows a student to design their own fractal by changing colors and patterns within it. Student designed fracts can be saved in poster form. It also describes how fractals are generated, and has many links to other sites about fractals.
9. Manipula Math with Java
   The material presented in the site are for middle school students, high school students, college students, and all who are interested in mathematics. You will find interactive programs that you can manipulate and a lot of animation that helps you to grasp the meaning of mathematical ideas.

    This site has animations that show proof of the Pythagorean Theorem as well as higher mathematics.
11. Maths Online
    The Gallery consists of interactive multimedia learning units on various issues that shall facilitate understanding. Technically, most units are Java applets, some are graphical supplements or other programs (JavaScript). For practice and (self) control, visit the collection of interactive tests.

   Dansmathcast is math knowledge for the masses, from a real math nut. Each show has features, a textbook chapter, and challenge problems! Dan Bach is a college math teacher, textbook author, and webmaster, and he's now a math podcaster!

   Four catchy math songs. Great way to teach vocabulary and difficult concepts.
3. Math Mutation Podcast
   Math Mutation is a short podcast for people of all ages, where we explore fun, interesting, or just plain wierd corners of mathematics.

   This site includes a nice explanation of what Whiteboards can do in the classroom. It also includes list of Interactive Whiteboard Tutorials and Templets, as well as, good interactive sites to use with an interactive whiteboard.
