  1. Bay Arenac ISD Career Center
    This site is divided into six career pathways with specific careers listed.  Each area describes the course available for that program at the ISD, a profile of the career, workplace opportunities, etc.  The identified pathways include Business Management, Marketing & Technology, Arts and Communication, Health Sciences, Human Services, Engineering / Manufacturing & Industrial Technology, Natural Resources and Agriscience.
  2. Choices Explorer Online
    This site includes opportunites to investigate a number of careers.  It includes a section that is an interview with someone who already holds this job as well as how math is used in the career.  It is a site that must be paid to use, but does include a 4 day free trial.

  4. Career Zone
    This site, sponsored by New York, provides opportunities to investigate six career pathways.  It allows the user to access the site through flash or text, depending on the needs of the persons computer.  Once the program is access, it allows the user to look at a variety of careers in each pathway.  Each career is broken down into the job description, interests, tasks, skills, knowledge, education, school programs, wages, job outlook, additional resources, and similar jobs.  The site is easy to read and navigate.
  5. Cool Math: Careers in Mathematics
    This site contains hypertext connections to all areas of math and math interests as well as jobs and the amount of math required. This should end that old question "When will I ever use this?"  Mostof the linked sites are recommended for grades 7-12.
  6. Get Tech
    Get Tech is for parent and students to look at careers in technology, engineering, manufacturing and science.  There are also a variety of other activities at the site.

    This career site is sponsored by the Career Journal, the career site of the Wall Street Journal. The site offers users access to a collection of career and job search information.

    Enter an academic major and receive "results" for a listing of career opportunities reflective of your academic major, interests, values, personal style and skills. Some of the career opportunities do require advanced study.

    Alphabetical listing of over 90 career profiles of mathematicians working in nonacedemic positions. A very good site for information about non-teaching careers in mathematics. Hyperlinks to other organizations with good career information.

    Outstanding - This site contains the top 100 biographies of famous mathematicians. There is also a link back to full listing of 1500 biographies on file. This link includes mathematicians as well as scientists.
  11. Ohio Math Works: Links Mathematics with Careers
    This is an interactive, multimedia site that shows students how professionals use mathematics in their careers. Students go behind the scenes in companies and are given an opportunity to do the math-based tasks that are done by professionals on the job. There is also a teacher’s instruction guide.

    Search the Occupational Outlook Handbook, and Career Tools.  This site also includes online resume makers, career interest games, and more.
  13. Virtual Job Shadow
    Job Shadow Coalition has made available a variety of materials to assist employers, teachers, and students in setting up a job shadow program or experience.

    This site, sponsored by the University of North Carolina at Wilmington has links to many other facets of career searching.  This page lists the name of a number of majors.  The student can then click on the major and find a list of career titles, major skills, and web sites for job listing and job searches for people with that major.
