Public Schools Rubric Bank
Each rubric in the rubric bank is identified
by a three-digit number, the first digit of which
indicates the subject area (see the chart above);
a few rubrics are listed more than once under
different subjects. All of these rubrics
begin with the highest possible score, with other
score points listed in descending order.
Analytic rubrics have each scale listed separately.
Each rubric listing also includes the subject(s)
and grade level(s) for which the rubric was developed,
the number of rating scales and the length of
each scale.

School Assessments and Rubrics
Now that we are using the Internet in the
classroom to support instruction, it is important
the area of assessment be addressed. One usable
method for teachers is to provide a rubric for
student use and for both formative and summative
assessment purposes. Another is to provide some
type of graphic organizer. Below you will find
a collection of assessment rubrics and graphic
organizers that may be helpful to you as you design
your own. Let me know if you have one you would
like to share! A book dealing with both the theoretical
and practical design of rubrics is the ASCD publication.
- RubiStar
Outstanding RubiStar can
help the teacher who wants to use rubrics but
does not have the time to develop them from scratch.
While many teachers want to use rubrics or are
experimenting with writing them, they can be quite
time-consuming to develop. RubiStar provides generic
rubrics that can simply be printed and used for
many typical projects and research assignments.
RubiStar is unique because it provides these generic
rubrics in a format that can be customized: Teachers
can change almost all suggested text in the rubric
to make it fit their own projects.
