      This site teaches arithmetic properties covered in K-8 math courses. Each page has an explanation interactive practice and challenge games about arithmetic properties. Students can practice, play and explore place value.
    4. Base-10 Blocks
      Interactive site which allows students to develop an understanding about base-10 place-value system through manipulating base-10 blocks.  This site also includes teacher lesson plans and instructions on how to use the site.
    5. Cookie Dough
      This site has students read and write whole numbers. Spelling numbers words is required by the student to play the game. There isn't problem solving or open ended questions, but it provides good practice in reading and writing numbers 1 through 10,000.  Grade level 2nd and 3rd.

      This is an on-line math book which takes students from beginning operations through operations with integers, fractions, and decimals. The book is interactive giving students an opportunity to problem solve on line. The explanations are clear and concise. Elementary and middle school students can use this site as review.
    7. Erich's Puzzle Palace
      Students are able to choose from a variety of options, solve a problem, and create or complete a puzzle.  This is recommended for middle-upper elementary grades.
    8. Genius Boxing
      The students compare numbers to determine greater than, less than, or equal to. Also involved are addition and subtraction facts to compare.
    9. Guess the Number
      This is an interactive site which requires students to compare and order numbers through prompts. The game will tell if their guess is greater than or less than the mystery number. A great review of whole numbers and their position relative to each other. This is a student activity. Be sure to click on "Games".

      Outstanding - An outstanding interactive site by grade levels.  Students can manipulate hundreds charts, pies, number lines, scales, measuring cups, factoring scales, and so much more.
    11. Learning about Number Relationships and Properties of Numbers Using Calculators and Hundred Boards: Displaying Number Patterns
      A major learning goal for students in the primary grades is to develop an understanding of properties of and relationships among numbers.  Building on students' intuitive understanding of patterns and number relationships, teachers can further the development of number concepts and logical reasoning as described in this site.
    12. Making Equal Groups
      Students will count equal groups to find the total product. They many also make their own groups for counting. Skip counting and addition may be used. Grades 3 and up.

      This is a unit which follows a ten day lesson plan. It involves the student in collecting and organizing real-world items into patterns. The student should be able to design a plan to solve problems using manipulatives, organizing and interpreting data, and using patterns. The unit involves station work, ideas for assessment techniques, and integration of Patterns Across the Curriculum. The student activities are not computer interactive, but are classroom activities.

      The student will select two numbers from a given collection of numbers to be rounded and then added. The activity may be timed and scored if desired. Grade level 3 and up.

      This site allows you to set the number of problems, the level of difficulty, as in "Easy, no negatives; complex up to 10 numbers," as well as the size of the numbers (0-9), (0-99). This is a student activity.

      This is a collection of on-line games suitable for drill or reinforcement of basic math concepts and operations. The site has several different game formats for each basic operation. Each game is available in Java or non-Java versions. The Java versions are self-scoring.

      This student activity has children looking at a map then taking "snap shots" of the area as if they are passing by on a train. They will then look at pictures from a different position and sequence the pictures to follow the original map. For students grade 4 and up.
