The Math & Science Center is receiving new and exciting materials every day. It would be impossible to list all of the materials, though. Listed below are only the major categories of materials available. As we expand and other materials and services become available, this information will be updated.
LIBRARY HOURS
Please call 989-964-4100 for more current semester information.
Special arrangements can be made with personnel at the Center for evening hours. Most books can be checked out for a three week period. For the few that cannot be checked out, copies of the activities can be made.
TEXTBOOKS
A large number of publishers have provided new textbooks. Many of these include total curriculum materials by grade, including lesson plans, workbooks, transparencies, etc.
SUBSCRIPTIONS
The Center has ordered a number of mathematics and science magazines. As we become aware of other publications, new subscriptions will be added. Our periodical library includes the following titles:

AIMS BOOKS
The Center has acquired a complete set of the AIMS (Activities in Mathematics and Science) books. We also have a subscription to the AIMS newsletter and receive regular updates.
GEMS BOOKS
The Center has also acquired the entire set of Gems (Great Explorations in Mathematics and Science) books. These books are a great source for Math and Science activities and explorations. There is a wide range of topics developed for a range of grade levels.
RESOURCE MATERIALS
A large number of exemplary programs from Michigan and other states have been acquired. Some include the complete program and others include descriptions of these programs and how to obtain the material. Classroom activity materials are also included in the resource library.
WINDOWS ON SCIENCE
A laser disc player and the complete 5-7 Windows on Science Program is available for viewing. We are in the process of acquiring the K-4 Windows on Science Program.
VCR EQUIPMENT
A VCR is available to preview the NASA videos and other videos that are available for check-out.
DUPLICATING EQUIPMENT
A copy machine is available to make copies of materials on a limited basis. Due to limited funding, we ask that minimal copies are made. Each copy is $.10.
ELLISON DIE CUTTER
The Regional Educator's Resource Center has an Ellison Die Cut Machine. There is a wide variety of dies to choose from including Upper Case and Lower Case Alphabets, animals, math, weather, & many more. The use of the Die Cut is free. Cardstock is $.10 a sheet.
LAMINATION
The RERC is equipped with a 27 inch laminator. Lamination is available for $.25/foot
COMB BINDER
The RERC has a comb binder. The bindings can hold up to 425 pages and are $.10 each.
COMPUTER SERVICES
The Internet is accessible through multiple computers (both IBM and MAC) in the RERC Lab. This access to the information superhighway gives you the power to find lesson plans for science and mathematics, NASA updates and numerous bulletin board capabilities. Video creation software, scanners, webcams, CD burners, and many other tools are available for use.
