Labs on Wheels Mathematics & Science Modules
Module Reservation and Check-out for the 2009-2010 School Year Begins:
SEPTEMBER 8, 2009!
These modules have been developed based on the New State Science Objectives and the Teacher Support Guides. Each module highlights a given area and includes hands-on activities. There are three types of modules:
- Conceptual Change Units - These modules are thematic in nature, with each lesson building on the previous lessons. There is an evaluation process built in.
- Collection of Activities Based on a Theme - These modules include a group of activities centered around a specific theme.
- Collection of Activities - These modules include a number of activities around related themes or topics.
The type will be indicated under title of the module. Most materials are provided to complete the experiments. There is a list of materials at the beginning of the book. This list includes the large equipment, consumables, and the items the teachers are responsible for providing. Each teacher is responsible for the return of all equipment listed in the Teacher Aids Section. Each module, depending on number of experiments included, will be checked-out for a set period of time. One week will be added to the designated time for teacher preparation. The remaining weeks are for the actual completion of the experiments. It is extremely important that the modules are picked up and returned on their due dates. It is also imperative that you read the contract that will be sent to you prior to pickup. We have only allowed one week for restocking. The cost for these modules are free to our service area (Arenac, Bay, Midland, Saginaw, Tuscola) and $50.00 to any outlying districts.
To reserve a module please call 964-4122 or 964-4114 and indicate the title and the subject area.
