Science and Mathematics Extravaganza for Kids

The SMEK programs at SVSU are sponsored by the Regional Mathematics and Science Center and are designed to involve area students, grades 2-8, in a number of engaging age appropriate science and math activities. Because the camps are offered on the SVSU campus, full advantage can be taken to utilize available recreational and food services facilities.

Summer SMEK Camps

The summer SMEK day camps involves multiple days of coordinated math and science activities often built around a theme, such as aerospace, environmental studies, or forensic science. These multi-day hands-on experiences are designed around timely topics and are meant to engage and stimulate student interest in various math and science areas. Two types of camps are offered. The Junior camp is for kids entering grades 2-4 and run for three days, while the Senior camp involves students entering grades 5-8 and run for five days.
