Programs
The Center's unique Teacher Specialist Program releases teachers to the Center for one semester; these teachers then become leaders for change upon their return to their home district. Among other professional development opportunities for teachers and administrators the Center has developed, Project SOLVE provides science content and pedagogy upgrades for K-l 2 teachers, including extensive hands-on experiences using higher-level thinking skills. Project MOLVE for mathematics provides mathematics content and pedagogy upgrades for middle school teachers, including hands-on experiences with manipulatives and the development of problem solving skills. The SEMSplus training for leadership in curriculum reform is also a major professional development opportunity at the Center.
