Brief Description of Facility

The Miller Empey Natural Science Room houses the Empey collection for public education and observation. It is open and available for all groups and individuals by appointment. The room was dedicated on November 11, 1962, to display this very unique and valuable collection of birds and other mounted specimens. The collection includes moles, squirrels, baby deer, beaver, fox, and badger. The most popular display is of the American Bald Eagle and Wolverine. In addition to viewing the collection, a series of Study Guides are available upon request. These are available in three levels: Preschool through Third, Grades Four through Eight, and Grades Nine through Twelve.
