| Brief Description of Facility | Grindstone City is located on M-25 about six miles east of Port Austin. Many grindstones can still be seen throughout the area today. A walk on the natural break wall made, of huge broken grindstones so many years ago, cannot help but take a person on a trip back in time. A drive-through tour is possible taking in some of the landmarks and noting some natural geographic formations in the area is the only expectation here. Visiting the above web-site will give the potential visitor a sense of what a school group might see. The grindstone memorial stone, at the corner of Copeland and Rouse Road at Grindstone City, is said to weigh 4,750 lbs. |
