The Lending Library reserves the right to grant or deny renewals.
In addition, the Lending Library reserves the right to recall the lent item at any time regardless of the due date. That request must be honored as soon as possible.Overdue fines will be assessed from the point of recall
If you have any questions or problems requesting a renewal for an ILL book it is your responsibility to contact the ILL Librarian for assistance (tzantow(at)svsu.edu or 989.964.4238)
Please note the following differences between ILL and MeLCat interloan books
MelCat books have a guaranteed 21 day loan period with a 21 day renewal
ILL book duedates are determined by the Lending Library as well as all aspects of renewals (see above)
MeLCat renewals work the same way as renewing SVSU books using My CardCat
ILL renewals go through ILLiad.Alternatively, you may send an email to tzantow(at)svsu.edu with the title of the book and the TN number
Select “Checked Out Items” under “View” on left menu bar
Click on the Transaction Number of the item you wish to renew
If a renewal is possible (i.e., the Lending Library has not prohibited renewals, and the due date has not yet passed) you should see “Renew Request” on the upper left above “Transaction Information”
If renewals are possible you will notice an automatic 3 day extension of the due date. This is a courtesy extension to provide the Lending Library enough time to renew the book.
If the renewal is granted a confirmation email will be sent (typically within a few work days of the renewal request).
If the renewal is not granted you will need to return the book by the due date.
If the Lending Library does not respond, or you do not receive an email granting or denying the renewal, it remains your responsibility to return the book by the due date.
