Zahnow Library Welcomes Kathleen Kroll,
New Reference And Instruction Librarian

More news

This winter semester SVSU faculty and students will see a new face at the Reference Desk and in library instruction sessions. On Monday, February 9th, Kathleen Kroll joined the Zahnow Library staff as the new Reference and Library Instruction Librarian. Kathleen previously worked at New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas, NM where she coordinated Reference Services and Circulation at the Thomas C. Donnelly Library.

Here at SVSU, Kathleen’s daily duties include coordinating the library’s instruction program. Beyond scheduling and teaching library research sessions, Kathleen will work with faculty, students and librarians to increase information literacy at the University. Assessing the current program and gaining feedback are first on her agenda.

Along with coordinating the instruction program, Kathleen assists users at the Reference Desk, answers Ask-A-Librarian email inquiries and provides appointments for individual research needs. Beyond her reference duties, Kathleen purchases books and other material in designated subject areas as part of the library’s liaison program.

Faculty are encouraged to call or stop by Reference Services to meet and welcome Kathleen, [kmkroll@svsu.edu], x. 7054.
