Student Technology Center: Helping Students Succeed

More news

The Student Technology Center (STC) celebrated its Grand Opening on January 20th, with dedication remarks from President Eric Gilbertson. Guests from all over the university had a chance to see the state-of-the-art facility located on the 2nd floor of the Zahnow Library. Sue Ford, an SVSU student, won the prize drawing for a Zire Handheld from Palm.

The Student Technology Center offers one-on-one tutoring for SVSU students who need help using technology. Students can get help with a wide variety of software and projects including:

  • Creating a presentation in PowerPoint
  • Designing a web page using FrontPage or Dreamweaver
  • Developing an electronic portfolio to show future employers
  • Constructing a brochure or newsletter using Publisher
  • Scanning photos
  • Touching up digital images in Photoshop
  • Creating animations and movies using Flash

STC tutors are available to help students learn the technology they need to complete their assignments. Students may schedule an appointment with a tutor by calling 964-2299.
Walk-ins are also welcome. Visit the STC web site at: http://www.svsu.edu/library/stc/
