Tom Latuszek picture
This past October 28, the Zahnow Library welcomed Tom Latuszek as its new Electronic Resources/Serials Catalog Librarian. Tom came to SVSU from Wayne State University, where he gained valuable experience in three different libraries – the David Adamany Undergraduate Library, the Learning Resources Center of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, and most recently, Shiffman Medical Library.

He is a three-time graduate of Wayne State as well, having earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts, a Master of Arts in English, and a Master of Library and Information Sciences from WSU. In addition, he earned the Wayne State University President’s Exceptional Service Award twice, in 1998 and 1999.

As Electronic Resources/Serials Catalog Librarian, his responsibilities include facilitating user identification and access to the library’s growing collection of electronic journals and serials, managing activities associated with the bibliographic control of serial publications, and acting as the library’s technical contact for electronic database vendors. He will also serve as library liaison to designated academic departments, working with faculty to select materials for the library collection. In addition, he’s on duty at the Reference Desk a few hours each week, becoming familiar with our users and their information needs.

A native of Grayling, Tom is enjoying the professional opportunity this position presents to serve the needs of SVSU students, faculty and staff.
