ILLiad, a New Way to Use Interlibrary Loan
ILLiad (InterLibrary Loan internet accessible database) is the library’s new web-based interlibrary loan system. It replaces both the CardCat ILL system and the ZEDD electronic document delivery system. Access ILLiad from the Interlibrary Loan page at http://library.svsu.edu. Users will access ILLiad for all their interlibrary loan needs.
ILLiad offers three key improvements over the previous ILL system:

Getting started no longer requires being registered on the Library CardCat system. ILLiad uses the same authentication user id and password as logging on to the University network or email accounts. The first time a user logs on to ILLiad, an online form appears requiring contact and document delivery preference information. Once that form is completed, full use of all ILL functions is assured.

Quality assurance is greatly improved with ILLiad. Users will now be able to track the progress of all their ILL requests, including those that are submitted via FirstSearch databases (Please note that an ILLiad account must be established prior to requesting items directly from FirstSearch databases). Users will still have access to their requests even after the items have been received or if the request has been cancelled. A user's entire ILL history is kept with their account for future reference.

By combining document delivery functionality with traditional ILL services, ILLiad offers a single interface for requesting items, item delivery and request tracking for on- and off-campus faculty, staff and students.
