Access Services
The Access Services Department is made up of the following areas
Circulation : responsible for checking out and returning Library materials, course reserves, notebook computers for students, MelCat and Interlibrary Loan materials. Telephones located near the elevators connect with the Circulation Desk should you need assistance finding a book on the shelves. In addition this area is responsible for maintaining the Library shelving and preparing electronic reserves for faculty. See the Circulation Page for more information
Interlibrary Loan (ILLiad) and MelCat : collectively referred to as Resource Sharing, these services borrow materials from other libraries for our faculty, staff and students, and reciprocate by loaning our resources for their patrons. See the Interlibrary Loan pages for more information
Course Reserves (Library and E-Reserves) : service for making articles, books, and media available for faculty and their students. Physical copies of materials are kept behind the Circulation Desk while online e-reserves are added to course VSpace accounts. See the Library and E-Reserves pages for more information
Archives and Special Collections : limited access resources related to the history and operation of SVSU as well as historically important and rare materials. Archival collections include the papers of the internationally renowned author Ken Follett among other resources. Special Collections include copies of SVSU theses and capstone projects as well as rare books. See the Archives pages for more information
SVSU Records Management : a records retention service provided for SVSU departments who request it. See the Records Management pages for more information
Library Systems : oversight of Library-based hardware and software as well as Library web pages
