SVSU Student Organization Technology Resources

Student Organizations must process a request to register their new club with Student Life (click here to sign up for a new club).  All student organizations (or clubs) must have a faculty/staff advisor. This document will help outline the requirements and technology resources available to student organizations at SVSU.

Student Organizations are eligible to obtain web space, email lists, and a VSpace account which is optional. The web space and email lists (see below) are automatically created upon approval by Student Life and their club advisor, whereas you MUST request the VSpace account if you need it. The online process (linked above) allows the student president to identify your club name, who will be the webmaster(s), manager of mailing lists, and the advisor.

IThe automated process will create the accounts and upon approval, and then send email messages to the webmaster and mailing list manager. The messages contain instructions on how to access and connect to your site.

Additional assistance for using these technology resources can be obtained through the Student Technology Center, located on the second floor of Zahnow Library.

Mailing Lists

Mailing Lists managers (or moderators) will receive a message that contains a link to mailing list help documentation: http://www.svsu.edu/netserv/ml/help/

There are typically 3 lists created: 1) used for officers, 2) for members, 3) for alumni. You may request an ALIAS for your club email address name.
