Windows Vista - SVSU Wireless Setup Guide

Step 1: Ensure your wireless antenna is enabled.  Click on the network icon in the taskbar, and select "Network and Sharing Center".
 

 
Step 2: Click on "Manage wireless networks".
 

 
Step 3: In the following window, if either "SVSU" or "Registration" are listed, select them and click "Remove".
 
Step 4: Click on "Add".
 

 
Step 5: Click on "Manually create a network profile".
 

Step 6: Enter the following information:

  • Network name: SVSU
  • Security type: WPA2-Enterprise (or, if not available, use WPA-Enterprise)
  • Encryption type: TKIP
 
 
Step 7: On the next screen, click "Change connection settings".
 
Step 8: Click on the "Security" tab.
 
Step 9: Uncheck the "Cache user information for subsequent connections to this network" box.  Click "Settings...".
 
 
 
Step 10: Uncheck all boxes.  Click "Configure...".
 
 
 
Step 11: Uncheck the "Automatically use my Windows logon name and password" box.
 
 
 
Step 12: Click on "OK" until all windows are closed.  You should now see a popup at the taskbar.  Click on it.
 
 
 
Step 13: In the window that appears, type in your SVSU user name and password.  Leave the "Logon domain" field blank.  Click "OK".
 
 
 
Step 14: Wait up to 2 minutes for the logon process to complete, then go to Step 3 of the registration process.
