There are several options available for video conferencing and web meetings. The purpose of offering a video conference or web meeting is to support traditional, online and hybrid classes offered at SVSU. By supplementing online and hybride courses with MCU Bridge, PVX and MCU Bridge, GoToMeeting or Agora meetings, your students will feel a greater sense of community while retaining the convenience of staying closer to home. Please view this comparison of conferencing solutions to get a better sense of when to use which system.
Video conferencing's main objective is to enhance the educational experience with the goal of providing a wider range of education for all students. Video conferencing reaches students in remote areas that may not be able attend classes in person due to geographical constraints.
SVSU offers several video conferencing classes utilizing its teleconferencing technologies each semester. The University also makes use of this technology for off site department meetings and presentations.
If you are interested in learning about the possibilities of Video conferencing, please attend one of our workshops offered by the ITD Lab or contact Robert Arterburn, Instructional Technology Specialist, rarter@svsu.edu, 989-964-7471.
