Zimbra Desktop for SVSU Vmail
Note: Zimbra Desktop Client software does lag in development, when compared to the Zimbra Web client interface, and may not have the same full functionality or may show some inconsistencies from time to time. As such, ITS fully supports the use of the Web Client at vmail.svsu.edu, and will provide minimal support for the Zimbra Desktop client.
Download Zimbra Desktop
- Download Zimbra Desktop
- On the right click the version you need (Windows, Linux, MAC)
- Save the file to your computer (remember the location where you saved it).
Install Zimbra Desktop
- Navigate to where you saved the ZimbraDesktop.exe file and double-click on the icon to begin the setup process.
- Follow the prompts for installing, click Next until the installation is complete.
- Click the Finish button to launch Zimbra Desktop
Configuring Zimbra Desktop for SVSU Vmail
- Upon opening Zimbra Desktop it will prompt you to Set Up an Account.
- Click on the type of account you want to setup: Zimbra Account
- Insert the following information:
- Description: SVSU account
- Email address: username@svsu.edu
- Password: SVSU password
- Zimbra server: vmail.svsu.edu
- Click Save Settings
- When your account has been successfully created, click Go to Zimbra Desktop
