Vmail Fowarding

NOTE:  SVSU strongly advises that currently enrolled students do NOT forward their Vmail accounts, as it serves as the primary communication with SVSU faculty and administrative offices such as Financial Aid and Student Employment. The instructions below are intended for Alumni to route their messages, if they so choose to do so.

How do I forward SVSU email to my other email account?

To forward all email messages coming into your SVSU account follow the instructions below for the Vmail template you're using (WebMail or WebAccess).

If you have never changed your Vmail template, the default setting is "WebMail". If you are using the "WebAccess" template, the phrase "WebAccess" will be displayed in the upper left corner of the Vmail screen. If it does not appear, then you are using "WebMail".

WebMail Template

  • Click Preferences
  • Under Forwarding, select Yes for Enabled.
  • If you want to keep copies of your messages in your WebMail mailbox, select Yes for the Keep Copy option.
  • In the Forward to field, provide one or more email addresses where you want to forward all your messages. List one email address per line.
  • Click Apply to save your changes.

WebAccess Template

  • Click Options > Mailbox Management.
  • Under Forward all new messages, select Yes.
  • If you want to keep copies of your messages in your WebAccess mailbox, select Yes for the Keep Copy option.
  • In the Forward to field, provide one or more email addresses where you want to forward all your messages. List one email address per line.
  • Click Save to save your changes.
