- SVSU alumni are granted access to an SVSU email account via Vmail, https://vmail.svsu.edu, indefinitely.
- Alumni who graduated in or after December of 2002, retain access to the SVSU email account that was established for them during their time as a student at SVSU. Also, alumni who graduated prior to December of 2002 and who have been granted access to an SVSU email account during or after Fall of 2002, similarly retain email access.

- Messages with attachments will have a size limit of 5MB.
- New email messages unopened for 90 days will be deleted by the University, without notification to the user. Opened/stored email messages will not be deleted.
Information regarding usage of the Vmail email system is available here.
Information regarding how to forward your Vmail email to another email account is available here.
Alumni email addresses will not be available in the online student directory lookup, unless the alumni also qualifies for an SVSU email account as a student according to the Student Technology Access Policy, http://www.svsu.edu/its/policies/studenttechaccesspolicy.html.
Alumni who want to change their login ID due to marriage, etc., need to contact the Registrar's Office, registrar@svsu.edu . Alumni will be required to provide (faxing allowed) appropriate ID verification information. The ID change will be processed during the next time frame between semesters (between Fall & Winter, Winter & Spring, or Summer & Fall). Exceptions to this processing time frame will be handled on a case by case basis. The ITS Support Center will contact the student upon completion of the change.
Alumni who no longer want to have an active SVSU email account may submit a deactivation request from their SVSU email account to support(at)svsu.edu.
All requests for information regarding alumni email accounts will be directed to the Alumni Relations Office, alumni@svsu.edu, 989-964-4196.
