Information Technology Services (ITS) will:

  • Provide secure quality and reliable services that add value to the learning environment for students and faculty

  • Provide secure quality and reliable services for the marketing and administrative needs of the University

  • Provide consulting on leveraging current and emerging technologies and services

 

 

 

ITS’ Mission

 

ITS’ mission is to provide consulting and systems analysis, provisioning, training, and operational support for Instructional and Administrative technologies at SVSU.  This can include campus-based systems and vendor-based systems accessed through the internet.

 

ITS is responsible for supporting both Academic and Administrative computing. This responsibility encompasses the following:

 

  • Information Security, Authentication and Authorization
  • Instructional Technology Training for faculty & staff
  • Classroom Technology installation and support
  • Learning Management System|VSpace training and support
  • Consulting, programming, and operational support for:

o   University Financial & Administrative Systems

o   Student Records Systems

o   Document Imaging System

  • Student Computer (open) Labs
  • Teaching Computer Labs
  • Campus Network & Internet Connectivity
  • University micro-computer and software installation, repair, and support
  • Web Programming
  • ITV and IP Distance Education
  • Data Center Operation
  • Grant Consulting
  • Technology Grant Planning and Management
  • Regional Technology Collaborations
