University web site overview: Responsibility for Saginaw Valley State University’s Web Site design and content is distributed among several divisions and colleges. Through the use of a Content Management System, content responsibility is distributed throughout the University.
ITS’s Web Services is responsible for the SVSU web site software infrastructure, Content Management System (CMS) , and various specialized systems running on the SVSU web site. Coordinate the design, development, and maintenance of University level web pages. Design, develop, maintain and deploy the University templates, stylesheets and navigation. Design and develop web sites as requested by University Departments. Facilitate user development of departmental and individual web pages via CMS. Lead ongoing revisions of web development standards and best practices.
Network Services
Network Services designs, installs, administers, troubleshoots and maintains the University’s complex three-tier LAN/WAN/MAN data network and to provide related support for network users. The team :
- Provides Network design and administration
- Conducts new network technology and research
- Devises Network plans to meet the current and future needs of the campus community in terms of service, capacity, and reliability.
- Purchases and installs network hardware and software.
- Maintains the campus data communications infrastructure.
- Performs troubleshooting and technical support to all customers.
- Participates in the development of information technology policies.
