Training/ITC

 

The Instructional Technology Center is responsible for all facets of classroom instructional technologies including assessment, evaluation, training, and related activities associated with the integration of new technologies.

 

Specifically, the Instructional Technology Center is responsible for:

  1. The ongoing design, installation, usage, and maintenance of classroom technology, including “smart” podiums and “basic” technology systems consisting of touch panel control systems, video/data projectors, and other electronic presentation equipment. Providing instruction and assistance in usage of equipment to faculty and students.

  2. Providing training and instructional media development support to faculty in the Instructional Technology Development Lab. This includes training faculty & staff in over 40 software packages.

  3. Operating the CATV and satellite distribution system, including cable TV modulators, distribution amplifiers, dishes, and receiving systems.

  4. Operation of Distance Education and videoconference classroom locations, including design, installation, and maintenance of equipment, including codecs, cameras, control systems, and multi-conferencing unit.

  5. Instruction and training on use of all classroom technology.

  6. Operation of audio and video production facilities, including video production / TV studio, audio production booth, and two nonlinear editing systems.

  7. Media production and reproduction.

  8. Researching new AV and instructional technologies for faculty use and application in the classroom; advocating integration of media and instructional technologies into the academic curriculum.
