Step 1: Start up your computer and insert (or enable) your wireless network card.
Step 2: If you are in range of a wireless access point, you will see a popup in your taskbar like this one below:
Step 3: Click on the popup and you will see "SVSU Secure" listed as an option.
Step 4: Click on the "Change advanced settings" text and you will be taken to the wireless Network Connection properties
Step 5: Click on the "Wireless Networks" tab.
Step 6: Click on the "Add..." button under the "Preferred networks" section.
Step 7:
Step 8: Click on the "Authentication" tab.
Step 9: Set the "EAP-Type" box to PEAP, and uncheck the "Authenticate as computer" box as shown:
Step 10: Click on the "Properties" button.
Step 11: Uncheck the "Validate server certificate" box and Enable Fast Reconnect.
Step 12: Click on the "Configure" button.
Step 13: Uncheck the "Automatically use my Windows logon" box.
Step 14: Keep clicking the "OK" button until all screens are closed.
Step 15: You should now see a Wireless Network Connection bubble in your taskbar.
Step 16: Click on the popup and you will see the "Enter Credentials" box.
Step 17: Enter your SVSU User ID in the "User name" field. Enter your SVSU Password in the "Password" field. Leave the "Logon Domain" field blank.
Note: You may need to re-synchronize your password to use the wireless network - visit the change password page at: http://www.svsu.edu/changepassword/
Step 18: Step back and wait. The logon process may take up to 2 minutes to complete. Once it has completed, you will see a message that says "Wireless Network is now connected."
Step 19: Go to Step 3 of the registration process.
