About Us
Alpha Phi Omega is a national co-ed service fraternity. It was founded in 1925 at Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania by Frank Reed Horton. Alpha Phi Omega was founded on the three principles of leadership, friendship, and service. Members of Alpha Phi Omega are able to build leadership skills and friendships while providing service to their campus, to the youth and communities, to the fraternity, and to the nation.
The Alpha Delta Upsilon chapter at SVSU was founded in 1997 by Matt Kern. The executive board is made up of seven members: President, VP of Membership, VP of Service Projects, VP of Volunteer Recruitment, VP of Administration, VP of Membership Education and Retention, and VP of Communication. Service projects consist of helping at Community Village, working at the zoo and library, campus clean ups, and working with the Salvation Army. As of Fall 2010, there were over 40 active members in Alpha Phi Omega at SVSU.
