Admission Requirements
Master of Science in Nursing
- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing cumulative GPA of 3.0 (on a 4 point scale) or Step 1 of RN to MSN program with a GPA of 3.0 preferred
- License to practice nursing in the United States; or eligible for Michigan license
- A completed graduate application to include the non-refundable application fee
- Official copies of undergraduate and graduate transcripts
- Résumé which includes education, employment, scholarship, service and professional involvement
- One page statement of academic and professional goals
- Two letters of recommendation, preferably from colleagues with a graduate degree in nursing
- Personal interview
- Additional admission criteria (e.g. standardized test results) may be required based upon interview and record review
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS must complete the international application for student admission, to include the following:
- Official copies of undergraduate and graduate transcripts
- Résumé which includes education, employment, scholarship, service and professional involvement
- One page statement of academic and professional goals
- Official results of a credentials review by the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (www.cgfns.org)
- Official Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) results
- Evidence of Financial Support
Additional admission criteria (eg: interview) may be required based on record review.
