What Others are Saying about the Master of Business Administration Program!

"Before coming to the United States, it was tough to make a decision about what school I should attend for my graduate education. After being accepted by a couple of universities, my final decision was SVSU. I think it was a great decision. Here are some reasons why:
First, as an international student, the most important thing for me, which also makes SVSU more special, is the affinity here. In my first months in the US, getting used to the new environment and culture was very difficult. However, I was very lucky. Whenever I needed something or I needed to talk to someone, no one ever said no and everyone tried to help me solve my problems.
Second, all my professors have been very helpful and supportive. Whenever I have a question about my classes, they always have time for me. In addition to this, when I have some general questions about the life or business life in the US, they have shared their experiences and insights with me, which was great.
Third, by means of the College of Business & Management, I have had two internships during my MBA education. Both are very important to apply the knowledge that I have gained through classes into business life. This shows that SVSU offers more than classes; it also provides some great opportunities off campus.
Fourth, as a graduate student in College of Business & Management, I have learned a lot in my classes. There are both theoretical and some practical information about the business and management disciplines. I have also had a chance to use this knowledge to do some research, which I think is the most important thing in an academic environment. SVSU was very supportive in my research activities as well.
And finally, the cost was another important factor, which made SVSU special. Earning an MBA degree from an accredited college with a low cost is a huge advantage. Consequently, I really have had great time working on my MBA education at SVSU. I will always be a proud SVSU alumni throughout my life."

"I like the following attributes of the MBA program at SVSU:
The prerequisites in 2 credit format were a good fit, the advantage of being an older student in the MBA program is that the material is more meaningful, classes equip you to look at old problems from a new perspective, and the program was convenient for me. My original degrees are in engineering but I work for a marketing driven company. The MBA equipped me to better interface with the other functions i.e. marketing, finance, accounting, etc."

"When I started the MBA program at SVSU, I didn’t know what to expect or what I would learn to advance my business. Now I can say that it as changed the way I think and view the world.
The MBA program at SVSU is challenging and complete. It fully prepared me to succeed in today’s competitive business environment. All of the coursework is relevant to the business issues of today and backed by solid business fundamentals. The MBA program is very valuable to me as a Real Estate Developer because it equips me with the analytical ability to solve complex problems. Whether it’s cash flow analysis or advanced simulations, SVSU instructors are great at taking something complex and making it simple. The collaboration with local businesses gave me added workforce experience while testing my ideas in a controlled environment. I would recommend this program, not only to the business professional, but other disciplines as well."

"As the Director of Interactive Services for Morley Companies, Inc. in Saginaw I have managed outsourced business processes for over 20 years and decided to supplement my expereince with an MBA from Saginaw Valley State University.
As I progressed through the program, I found the classroom discussions to be relevant and thought provoking. The instructors were able to draw on their own business experience as they provided real life situations to illustrate key concepts. Team based problem solving exercises offered ample opportunities to work with individuals who provided alternative viewpoints to critical issues. Also, several highly qualified international students provided new and unique perspectives based on their personal experience gained as citizens of other countries.
I found the experience of obtaining an MBA at Saginaw Valley State University to be personally fulfilling for a few simple reasons. First, the classroom instruction provided validation for managerial approaches that had helped me gain success throughout my career. Also, I was able to obtain valuable insights into new approaches for addressing familiar challenges. This was accomplished in a dynamic environment, with fellow students of various ages and nationalities providing fresh perspectives to fundamental management issues. I thoroughly enjoyed the academic rigor, the camaraderie established with fellow students, and the relevant experience of the instructors.
Simply put, I greatly value the knowledge that I gained in the program, and I highly recommend Saginaw Valley State University to anyone seeking an MBA degree."

"Co-workers often ask me, " Why an MBA? You're a teacher. " The reason I chose the MBA instead of a master's degree in education is flexibility. As a teacher, I am required to continue my education. However, I want to be prepared for whatever changes might come in this profession. Earning an MBA allows me to continue to teach with a greater knowledge base, plus give me the flexibility to enter the business world if I choose."

"The program offers the flexibility I need to balance a full-time job, family (with two small children) as well as my community involvement. The graduate business office has proved to be extremely helpful when planning classes, and addressing my concerns and needs. I have a desire to further my career in the human resources area, and the minimum requirement for entering into specific human resource opportunities is a graduate degree. An MBA, also will provide me with options for the future, whether it is with Dow Chemical, another company or entrepreneurial opportunities. I also like the fact that SVSU has a very diverse faculty and student population."

“The MBA program more than anything else broadened my knowledge and perspective of the world around me. Each course provided a high level of practical application that I use every day in my career as a commercial banking officer with Citizens Bank. The program also opened my eyes to the global nature of our economy. This was the result of a highly diversified student body, with classmates ranging from South America, Africa, Northern Europe, Central America and especially the Far East. In addition to the student body diversity, the SVSU MBA program helped me develop my personal speaking skills and my ability to work effectively within groups. These skills have aided me countless times within my organization, and with clients.”

"It is important to know the manufacturing side of my field, but I also wanted to understand the business side of it as well. SVSU has exactly what I was searching for in an MBA program."

“I think we are fortunate in the Tri-County area to have a university that offers an MBA with such high quality accreditation. The convenience of the class schedules and lower tuition made the decision to pursue a master’s at SVSU a very easy choice. More importantly, I had the opportunity to obtain the same knowledge base and skills that are taught at the other big name universities. As a commercial lender, the course work has helped me understand individual businesses better, beyond just their financial condition. The program will definitely enrich your career opportunities.”
