Master of Arts in Teaching

Mastering the challenge of education to change and improve lives

The Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program provides opportunities for academic preparatiofemail teacher with preschoolersn and professional renewal for practicing educators and increases elementary and secondary teachers' knowledge and understanding of the learning process and their repertoire of teaching methods and skills. Additionally, it offers teachers the opportunity to increase their competence in various subject area specializations.

SPECIALIZATIONS

ASSOCIATED ENDORSEMENT PROGRAMS

The following endorsements are combined with the Master of Arts in Teaching degree programs. Students seeking an endorsement in one of these areas must apply to the MAT program. Most coursework taken for the endorsement is applicable toward completion of the MAT degree.

ACCREDITATION
The College of Education is fully accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).

Saginaw Valley State University is fully approved as a teacher preparation institution by action of the State Board of Education.
