Workplace Conflict Resolution - Certificate

The multidisciplinary field of Conflict Resolution has greatly expanded the applications of its methods to an ever-increasing variety of cases. These methods include mediation, arbitration, and administrative hearings within agencies and elsewhere. They offer relative privacy and are faster as well as less expensive and cumbersome than typical courtroom litigation. Many court systems around the world have come to depend on the effective functioning of alternative dispute resolution methods, allowing courts to prioritize their dockets and reduce overcrowded case calendars. Workplace conflict resolution is an important component of this movement, as an increasing number of human resource offices implement these procedures. In the Workplace Conflict Resolution program, student-administrators also learn the necessary skills to deal with conflict constructively to the benefit of the organization.

A certificate in Workplace Conflict Resolution can be earned by successfully completing these four courses in the MAS curriculum:

MAS 520 Communication for Administrators 3cr
MAS 540 Diversity in the Organization 3cr
MAS 560 Conflict Management in the Organization 3cr
