College of Education
Master of Arts Instructional Technology
Mastering the challenge of education to change and improve lives
The Master of Arts Instructional Technology (MAIT) is designed for classroom teache
rs interested in integrating technology into their curriculum, school administrators or teachers charged with decision-making and administration of technology, and business or government personnel involved in the development and administration of technology based training.
Instructional Technologists are involved in many aspects of education, all of which deal with the use of technology to enhance learning. One of the most common roles for an instructional technologist is a K-12 technology coordinator at either a building or district level. Instructional Technologists help teachers integrate technology into their day-to-day teaching and help manage technology in schools. While technology coordinators need technical skills to deal with the hardware and software, they are primarily concerned with pedagogical aspects of technology in schools. Other instructional technologists work in the design and development of technology enhanced training environments for corporate and government agencies. (36 Credit Hours)
ASSOCIATED ENDORSEMENT
The Educational Technology (NP) endorsement consists of 18 credits and prepares teachers to use technology resources for classroom instruction.
