SVSU Foundation Resource Grant Program

The Resource Grant Program was established in 1998 by the SVSU Foundation Board of Directors. The funds available for award are generated by distributions from the SVSU Foundation Resource Fund Endowment. The program was created because the Foundation and the University wish to encourage innovation and enrichment of opportunities for students by providing "start-up" funds for new or one-time programs or projects.

Grant proposals are reviewed by the Evaluation Committee, which is comprised of appointed members of the SVSU Foundation Board of Directors. All projects must involve and benefit SVSU students.

NEWSFLASH FOR 2009-2010

  • WE ARE GOING PAPERLESS (Almost)!  Beginning with the October 2009 cycle, your Resource Grant application will be submitted by completing either a .doc (saved as MS Office version 2003 or earlier, please) or .pdf format version of the form and submitting it via e-mail to busch(at)svsu.edu.  If you have additional attachments, they are still welcome!  Please send them electonically as well.
  • You will need to submit one hard copy of your grant with the transmittal sheet bearing the appropriate signatures (deans, vice presidents, etc.) authorizing your application.
  • Your final reports may also be submitted electronically.
  • Plans are in the works for developing an online application and reporting process.  We will keep everyone posted of new developments!  Thank you in advance for helping us save a few trees and make our process easier for everyone.

OTHER RECENT DEVELOPMENTS

  • The 1/3 restriction on travel expenses now only applies to travel abroad.  Domestic travel, including regional mileage expenses, will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Applying Is Easy!

  • Download the application materials in PDF or WORD format
  • Electronically complete the required forms (there are only two, one page each!)
  • Write a proposal describing what you plan to do (your narrative should be submitted as an additional .doc or .pdf attachment with your forms)
  • Include supporting materials and recommendations if you like, provided they are available in electronic form - no lengthy attachments required!
  • Submit via e-mail to busch(at)svsu.edu by October 1 or February 15 (or first business day after if deadline falls on the weekend)

We Can Help!

Have questions about writing your proposal? After reading the guidelines, still not sure if your project qualifies? Contact Emmie Busch at the SVSU Foundation Office.
