Leading Local Family Businesses Will Establish Family Business Program Endowment
Stevens Worldwide Van Lines, Glastender, Inc., and Bronner's CHRISTmas Wonderland have joined forces to create an endowment in support of the SVSU Family Business Program. Established in 1999, the program provides seminars, networking opportunities and professional development activities for the area business community with a focus on family-owned businesses. Fabiano Brothers Establishes Scholarship for SVSU Business Students
Fabiano Brothers has established an annual scholarship for students in the College of Business and Management, with a special focus on those with an interest in entrepreneurship. A major wholesale wine and beer distributor in Michigan, Fabiano Brothers has been a family-owned and operated business since its inception in 1885.
SVSU Foundation Awards Grants to Student Travel and Seminars
The October 2009 SVSU Foundation Resource Grants have been awarded. Recipients included four faculty-led international study abroad projects to Africa, China, India, and Ireland. Theatre students received assistance for a performance and research project in collaboration with organizations in Canada, students from SVSU's Model United Nations will attend an international conference, and Physical Education students will attend the 2010 Alliance for Health, Physical Education and Recreational Dance Convention.
