Schools and Libraries

Join Flûtée for this unique presentation of poetry and music as they describe various members of the animal kingdom with words and flutes.

Music performed includes selections by such composers as Camille St. Saens, Percy Grainger, Jacques Ibert, and Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov with poetry by Ogden Nash, Elsie M. Fowler, Normal Gale, and Thomas Head. Various folk songs and nursery rhymes, well known to children everywhere, are also featured.

In addition, Flûtée also demonstrates the members of the flute family including the piccolo, Eb soprano flute, C concert flute, alto flute, and bass flute, and shows children the basic principles of sound production on the flute.
