The following scholarships are available to graduate students by SVSU academic departments. The awards are made by the respective departments based on academic merit and need (additional criteria may apply). Students are encouraged to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid on an early basis for consideration of these awards. In addition to the FAFSA form, a separate application is required (in most cases). 

 

Alumni Endowed MBA Scholarship

Criteria

  • Returning Graduate
  • Financial need
  • Minimum completion of 12 credits
  • Leadership/Character
  • Mid-Michigan resident
  • Recipient ineligible if employer has a tuition reimbursement program
  • Enrollment requirement: Full time or Part time student

American Legion Post 22 Legion Riders & Sons of American Legion Scholarship

Criteria

  • Graduate
  • Returning
  • Full Time
  • Part Time
  • Be a Veteran or Dependent of a Veteran in order of preference:
  • a.  honorably discharged or active duty Veteran of the US Military
  • b.  dependent of an honorably discharged or active duty Veteran of the US Military
  • All candidates must meet the following additional criteria:
  • have achieved sophomore class standing
  • have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0
  • demonstrated financial need
  • demonstrate the potential or ability to make a positive contribution to their chosen fields

Criteria

Eligible candidates selected in the following order:

  • Graduate

  • Full Time or Part Time
  • Children or grandchildren of Active or Retired Bay Cast Employees
  • Brother, Sister, Niece or Nephew of Active or Retired Bay Cast Employees
  • Any Other Relative of Active or Retired Bay Cast Employees
  • Minimum 2.75 Cumulative GPA
  • Michigan Resident
  • Leadership
  • Financial Need (May)
  • Preference to Current or New Student Majors in Engineering, College of Business & Management or College of Education and then to other Bay Cast Family Members

Salley Edgerton-Netke Memorial Scholarship in Early Childhood Education

Criteria

  • Returning Graduate
  • Part Time
  • Early Childhood Education Major (ECE)
  • Minimum 4.0 graduate GPA
  • Letter of recommendation from ECE Faculty Member (not serving on selection committee)
  • Submit application materials to demonstrate outstanding writing and scholarship
  • Applications considered only during semester prior to internship/capstone year

Field Neurosciences Institute Scholarship for Neuroscience Nursing

Criteria

  • Graduate
  • Returning
  • Full Time or Part Time
  • Minimum 3.00 GPA
  • Demonstrate ability or potential to contribute to field of Nursing in general
    and neuroscience nursing in particular
  • Scholastic achievement
  • Demonstrated dedication to and professionalism in Nursing
  • Preference to candidates who have served as nurse externs or as supportive
    nursing personnel in health care settings that provide care to people with
    neurological conditions
