Abbott and Fenner Business Consultants recognize the need of most students today to receive financial assistance to be able to continue with their education. We are pleased to able to continue being a part of that assistance with our annual scholarship program.

Associated Food & Petroleum Dealers, Inc. Scholarship 2008
The Associated Food & Petroleum Dealers, Inc. through the AFPD Foundation is proud to award academic scholarships for the 2008-09 college year. At least 10 of the scholarships will be merit, at least 10 will be minority scholarships, and at least 3 will be AFPD members customers.
Eligibility Requirements:
- High school seniors and college freshmen, sophomores and juniors, who are:
employees of an AFPD member company and/or whose parents are employees
of an AFPD member company and AFPD member customers and their children. - Past winners are eligible for an AFPD Foundation scholarship a maximum of
two times.
Award Amount: Scholarships will be worth $1,500 each.

Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR)

The Michigan State Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, annouce the
establishment of The Rosamond P. Haeberle Memorial Scholarship for current
members and veterans of the United States Military. The scholarship may be used
for tuition, fees, books and expenses.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Be a U.S. citizen and a resident of Michigan.
- Have served on an active duty status in the U.S. Armed Forces (includes
Reserve or National Guard) for a minimum of six continuous months (180 days). - Must be currently serving in the armed services or have received a separation
from active duty under honorable conditions. - Be currently accepted to and/or enrolled in a two or four-year accredited college
or university or a certification/degree program from an accredited technical/trade
school in the State of Michigan. - Be enrolled at least half-time (6 units) per semester for the duration of the award.
- Have a cumulative high school or undergraduate GPA of 2.5.
Amount of Award: One $1,000 scholarship will be available for 2007-2008 for
two semesters at $500 each.

Army Emergency Relief Scholarship Program 2007-08

Army Emergency Relief (AER) is a private non-profit organization with a mission to help Army families with the costs of education.
Eligibility Requirements
- Applicant must be a spouse of an active or retired Army Soldier and must reside in the United States.
- Applicant must be a widow(er) of an active or retired Army Soldier and must reside in the United States.
- Stateside applicants must be full time students.
- Active Duty military personnel are not eligible.
- First undergraduate degrees only.

Lions of Michigan Scholarship for the Visually Impaired 2007

Eligibility Requirements
- Must be legally blind.
- Applicants must have made an application to any accredited trade or business school, college or university.
- Applicants must complete the official scholarship application and submit it along with two letters of recommendation.
- Must attend the Michigan Lions Forum to receive the scholarship.
Amount of Award: The amount of the scholarship is $2,000.
Deadline: Completed scholarship applications must be postmarked NO LATER THAN December 31, annually.

SVSU Faculty Association Endowed Scholarship 2007

The purpose of the SVSU Faculty Association Endowed Scholarship Program is to provide recognition and financial assistance to students during a period in which they maintain a mentor relationship with a full time SVSU faculty member. The program reaffirms the mission of the university by encouraging promising students to pursue academic projects under the guidance of a faculty member.
Eligibility Requirements:
3.25 GPA or better
Must be enrolled in a recognized degree program
Completed a minimum of 15 credit hours at SVSU
An interest in pursuing a project with a faculty member as a mentor

The Forum Foundation Scholarship 2007

This scholarship is intended to promote a positive gay identity, to encourage continued academic and career progress and to assist in financing higher education and post high school graduate educational experiences for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender students. It is an opportunity for students to have a positive support mechanism in their struggle for equality. dignity and growth opportunities in their pursuit of a stronger and developing self-identity.
Eligibility Requirements
- Applications may be accepted from residents of the State of Michigan or students attending accredited colleges or universities in the State of Michigan.
- Applications may be accepted from high school seniors who will be graduating and pursuing educational opportunities beyond high school.
Full time or part time or students accepted for study at any accredited college or university. - Recipients will be selected on the basis of scholastic achievement or promise, financial need, and desirable qualities of character and leadership with preference given to gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender students.
Amount of Award: The number and amount of the scholarship awards will be determined by the distributions from the endowment.

Datatel Foundation Scholarships for the 2008 Academic Year

The Datatel Scholars Foundation awards scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students attending Datatel client institutions. The Datatel Scholars Foundation offers four unique scholarships, ranging in value from $1,000 to $2,500 to students attending eligible Datatel client institutions. The Datatel Scholars Foundation online scholarship application process offers the following scholarships:

Datatel Scholars Foundation Scholarships are awarded to outstanding students currently attending Datatel client institutions.
Angelfire Scholarships honor military personnel soldiers who have served in the United States military during periods of combat. The Angelfire scholarship is presented to outstanding students who served in the Asian theater (Vietnam, Laos, and/or Cambodia) between 1964 and 1975.
Spouses and children of Vietnam veterans, and refugees of Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam are also eligible. In addition, scholarships are awarded to military personnel who have served in Operation Desert Storm, Operation Enduring Freedom, and/or Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Returning Student Scholarships provide assistance to current outstanding students who have returned to higher education after an absence of five years or more.
Nancy Goodhue Lynch Scholarships are awarded to outstanding undergraduate students majoring in information technology-related curriculum programs.

Michigan Retailers Association (MRA) Scholarship for 2008-09
The Michigan Retailers Association (MRA) has launched its scholarship competition for the 2008-09 school year.
Eligibility Requirements:
The student or his/her parent must be employed at a business that is a member of MRA. To find out if a particular business is an MRA member, students or parents should check with their employer or call MRA's Ms. Adkins at (800) 366-3699.
Amount of Award: The exact number of scholarships has not yet been determined. The awards are NOT based on financial need.
