The Forum Foundation Scholarship for 2009

This scholarship is intended to promote a positive gay identity, to encourage continued academic and career progress and to assist in financing higher education and post high school graduate educational experiences for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender students.  It is an opportunity for students to have a positive support mechanism in their struggle for equality, dignity and growth opportunities in their pursuit of a stronger and developing self-identity.

Criteria:

  • Must be a resident of the State of Michigan or students attending accredited colleges or universities in the State of Michigan.
  • High school seniors who will be graduating and pursuing eductional opportunities beyond high school.
  • Full-time or part-time students accepted for study at any accredited college or university.
  • Recipients will be selected on the basis of scholastic achievement or promise, financial need, and desirable qualities of character and leadership, with preference given to gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender students.

Award Amount: The number and amount of the scholarship awards will be determined by the distributions from the endowment.

Deadline:  The application deadline is April 30, 2009.
